Well Thanksgiving has come and gone which means Christmas is just around the corner! But before I jump into the Christmas holiday I think I should take time to be truly thankful for all that we have had in the past year! I am so blessed in the progress L has made in the past year, he physically is on track with other children his age and is taking leaps and bounds to try and catch up on speech! I am also very blessed to have the best husband who works so hard to provide for our family. He provides us with an amazing house and everything we need so that I can stay home with L, which I will never be able to tell him how thankful I am for that! Almost a year ago we moved here and I had a hard time adjusting, but I am so thankful for all the friends we have made who make my life so much more fun and help me out whenever I need them!
To me it feels like it should still be september early october but I guess time is flying! We enjoyed our time with family and friends over the weekend, getting to see some of my Dad's family we hadnt seen in quite a while! T and I were happy to have our awesome babysitters for the weekend to be able to enjoy some fun mommy and daddy time with Josh and Courtney. I was brave enough to wake up before the sun and head out for the Black Friday shopping, I was lucky enough to get almost everything I was going for and some things for other peoples lists too!! This year was my lucky year with black friday deals! T and I even made it to see a movie, which we hadnt done in a long time!! We saw The Blind Side which I would highly recommend to everyone, one of the best movies I have seen in a long time! I was also very pleased to be able to make a trip to Don Senors for lunch which I have been craving for months now! The trip was way too short but much needed!! I will try and find time to post pictures this week, we are busy as all are with the Christmas season so I hope not to get too far behind on this!
I have finally decided to start this blog, to help you--our family and friends be able to keep up with what we are doing and how L is growing, while we are away!

Yummy Sticky Smores!
Like I said in an earlier post this month has been a little hectic! I feel like I had let the blog go, because I had so much to update! I finally took my CNA state certification test on friday...yes I took it on Friday the 13th, lets hope it wasnt bad luck! I wont get my results back for up to 30 days but I have a good feeling that it went ok! I am sure glad to have it over with though so I dont have to worry about it and can spend all the free time I have with my boys!
Friday the 13th was also Nana's birthday! Nana, for those who dont know our names for grandparents, is my mom Leslie or to L "Ina". Her name started out as Nana but L has so cutely renamed her Ina. We were sad to miss spending her birthday with her, but cant wait to spend the weekend with her next week for thanksgiving! Nana we love you, happy birthday!!
We have had several beautiful days this week so we finally got some use out of our fire pit!! It has been in storage through all of our moves and T finally got it set up a couple of weeks ago. We have had fun snuggling around it and making smores!

T sure was proud of the moment in the last picture--he taught L how to do "cheers". L finds it quite funny and wants to do it frequently--now thats a proud daddy moment :)
4 Wheeler
L's Nonna and Pappy got him a 4 wheeler for the big 2nd birthday. I had thought he was too young to get him one, yet I didnt realize they made a smaller size for the under 3 crowd, but boy was a wrong! He LOVES it!! Every time we go through the garage he runs to it and we have a fight every morning on the way out that we dont have time to stop and play right now but that we will as soon as we get home! We have put many of hours on it in the last couple of weeks! He surely knows how to make it go but we are still working on the steering concept! But heres for you Nonna, some pictures playing on the 4 wheeler!
I couldnt help but throw in the last picture of libby...she isnt sure what to think of L on the 4 wheeler, but she has learned to keep her head up because she has had some close calls of getting run over!! She is a great dog for putting up with all his crap and Im sure one day will be chasing him on it!!
Fall Fun
Not only have we been enjoying the warmness of Fall, but L is LOVING all the leaves that come with it!! Last year he was still a little young to understand fully the leaves on the ground but this year now that he knows what trees are he thinks it is super cool to see all their leaves falling, and cool to play in them! We played outside this week and raked up some leaves to play in. L helped with the raking, and T showed him how to play in them!! I am not so sure that libby enjoyed them but she sure loves L so she put up with it!
On one of our adventures this month we found some beautiful fall leaves that hadnt died like those in our yard and stopped to play for a bit!

As I sat and looked through the pictures I had taken this month I sat with teary eyes as I looked at how big L has gotten and just how much we are in love with him and how much he is with us. But the thing that brings the happy tears the most to this mothers eyes is the pictures of T with him. That child isnt necessarily a mommy or a daddys boy but as a mom I cant help but smile every time I see him play with T. L absolutely adores his daddy and I couldnt help but add a few extra pictures of them together because you can just tell by the way they interact how much they love each other!
November thus far
November has been a beautiful month!!! I sure could get use to this weather and hope that it sticks around a while longer!! We have had a fun first half of the month enjoying being outside as much as possible! It has been a somewhat busy month though!!
First off we celebrated veterans day with T having two days off work!! Poor guy has been serving the United States Army since 2002 and very VERY rarely gets veterans day off!! I think its sad that people who have never served a day for this country get it off every year but our soldiers are lucky to get it off!! But I just wanted to take a second to say how proud L and I are of T and what he does every day! I dont think he gets enough thanks nor is his job a glamorous one, but he does it every day and does it with honor! We couldnt ask for a better husband or father and we know that even though he will be leaving us for a year soon that he will be doing a very honorable job that not many would do! T-we love you!!
Because T got 2 days off for Veterans day we took advantage of a pretty day and headed to the zoo! L is a huge fan of animals and now that he has a few more words in his vocabulary its a lot more fun for all of us! T and I enjoyed talking to L about all the animals and hearing him make the animal sounds. Here are a few pictures from our trip...the elephants are my favorite, and L for some reason enjoyed the "ishys" (fish) the best and he and T enjoyed throwing some snacks into them--I told T he better not get us kicked out for throwing our food to the fish but he told me to look at them (they were huge) so obviously he wasnt the first to do so! :) T and L had loads of fun in the petting zoo, T had to teach L to use a gentle hand--Im not sure where he thinks L gets his roughness from :)
We bought a membership to the zoo back in March since we live so close and figured we better get one more use out of it while we could, since the cold weather is probably headed our way before too long! But as you can tell from T's flip flops and the boys tshirts it was a nice warm November day and definitely nice to have T home from work!!

Little Lion
While attending my class I realized that I had not purchased a costume for L for Halloween yet. I visited every childrens clothing store in town and found I had waited far too long!! After much searching I finally found a costume in his correct size and snatched it up. So L was going to be a Lion! He is still learning new words and trick or treat was a bit hard for him but he sure has mastered how to 'roar'! Both sets of grandparents got to see him in his costume since we were in town, and we were able to go to our home church's trunk or treat! We traveled home the day before Halloween so L got to spend the day with T, we went to one of his coworker's houses for a party and trick or treated on their street. We had lots of fun, but didnt get any great pictures because L isnt a huge fan of the camera, but here is one picture I did get!
Pictures from birthday
Here are a few pics from L's big birthday extravaganza. The last post was a little heavy so I figured Id create one just for this!! The kids and the daddies had lots of fun trying to bust the pinata...the kids tried hard but Uncle Josh and Collin had to finish it off for them!
After the kids collected all the candy we enjoyed some cake and opened presents. Because L's name is on the cake we will leave those pictures out, but be rest assured that he ate more than enough cake for all of us!!
L had lots of fun...he is a rotten child and T and I are trying to think of anything to get him for Christmas because he seems to already have everything a 2 yr old could want!!

October has come and gone!
Wow what a month it has been! October started out with a bang with L's 2nd birthday!! We had a blast celebrating with him! He has changed so much in the past two years, I can hardly believe that he used to be so small. We celebrated with family and close friends back home with a party at Grandpa and Ina's (started as Nana but L has changed it to Ina) house. It was so good to spend time with some of our good friends whom we are usually not home long enough to see! L got more than he needed or we have room for!! We are still trying to figure out storage issues for the playroom :) seems like the toys keep getting bigger and my house seems to be getting smaller!
We traveled home on the 13th and over the long weekend found out that I would need to be back home by the 18th to start the State Registered Nursing Aide program. This is a prereq for the nursing program I am hoping to start soon, so I had to get it done in order to apply to nursing school. At home they could do this class in 10 days instead of a whole semester, so we decided it would be best for L and I to pack up and stay with Grandpa and Ina for a couple of weeks and go ahead and knock out the class.
Before heading back home we made a quick stop to visit family in Indiana and Louisville to celebrate two different great grandparents birthdays!! It is always good to see our family and we dont get to do it nearly enough now that we live a little further away!! L enjoyed playing with his cousins, we only wish daddy could have come with us!!
I finished my class, the content of the class was fairly simple, just a little overwhelming to cram a semester worth of information in to 10 days, I went full time for the 2 weeks and also did my clincals. I passed with flying colors and am anxiously awaiting my date to take the state certification test later next week!! Wouldnt have been able to do it without help from L's grandparents who so graciously watched him while I was in class and lended a helping hand at night time for me to be able to study!
L was sad to leave but was very happy to be back home to see his toys and definitely more than happy to see his Daddy. He has been attached to T since we got home and cries if T even goes outside to let Libby out. I am sure T is enjoying this a little too much since L has been a little bit of a mommy's boy up until now, but I guess I am ok with it! :)
Well now that I have talked your ear off to get you up to date, I guess I will stop. I am sure we will have loads more to tell you about in the upcoming days. I am anxiously waiting to get the christmas decorations out, figure its still a bit early, but I can hardly stand it!! (its been 2 years since my christmas decorations went in to storage and I am thrilled to have a house to decorate again this year!!)
