February

While February is technically the shortest of all the months I cant tell you how much faster it seems to have flown by then the others!  Not sure if it is because T's deployment is getting closer, because vacation is getting closer, or if we have just been so busy!  I think it is probably a combination of all 3!!  This week is the last week of my spring 1 quarter classes so I have a busy week of term papers, exams, and lab tests ahead!  T has been busy taking a hazmat course and will be going to the promotion board on friday!!  L has had a big week as well, we decided since we are trying to potty train he would need to be able to get out of his crib...with me being very hesitant to give up the comfort of the crib we decided to convert it to his toddler bed.  One thing L has always been good at is sleeping, not sure where he gets that from :), and I knew he was ready for the toddler bed but I wasnt sure I was ready for him to be able to get up whenever he felt like it!  But he has pleasantly suprised me!!  We are in the process of getting "big boy" bedding to go on his bed, not that he would have known the difference but I am hoping it will be an incentive to keep up the good work!!  I am so blessed that the transition is going well, he wakes up every morning and waits for me to come tell him he can get out of his bed!!

Next weekend we will be at the happiest place on earth!  I am not sure which of us is the most excited, but we are counting down the days to Disney World.  Libby will be staying home to hold down the fort while we are gone with one of T's soldiers staying here as well to take care of her!  We will be there for 8 days for several days at the disney parks and a trip to sea world.  We are hoping that sea world will be back to normal by the time we get there!!  Looking forward to making memories with L, but more than anything looking forward to a nice vacation away to spend some quality family time together before T leaves for the year.

Cant wait to get some pictures posted, check back later for updates from Family Vacation 2010!!

Snow Day

We got some unexpected snow last night, and it sure was a nice suprise!  T went outside to let Libby out last night to see that our yard was already covered and we didnt even know it was snowing!!  We got enough snow for the county schools to be closed, which meant that L didnt have preschool, my college even closed, and the base even shut down so T didnt have work!!  Sure was a nice suprise to all 3 have the day off and we didnt even know it was supposed to snow!  We enjoyed the morning using our imaginations since our satellite was out--which mornings are L's usual cartoon time...but we sure did enjoy our snow play!  We went for rides on the sled, T and L built a snowman, we shoveled the driveway and threw snowballs.  It was much more fun this time since T was home...its alot easier to keep L happy when his daddy is around!  We spent a good hour and half outside and came in to some hot chocolate to warm us up!  Here are some pictures from our snow day...I am trying to figure out how to load my videos, so hopefully I will post those soon!

I love this picture, while it is always sad to see my little one
sad--he wasnt quite happy about having fallen face first into the
snow but it is always so sweet to see that having mommy or daddy
hold him is enough to dry up the tears!!

L really enjoyed helping daddy "shovel" the snow!  He tried out
all of the tools in the garage last week when I shoveled so he
already knew which one he liked best for this week...
if you cant tell what it is from the pictures, it is our squeegee,
I dont know if he liked it because it was the lightest and the easiest to
carry or what...but he sure had fun "shoveling" with it!

I guess we will probably be back to school and work tomorrow but we are looking forward to a long presidents day weekend in a few days and spending some time with family and friends!

Super Bowl

For the last two years we for different reasons havent been able to have a superbowl party but this year since we were in our new home we decided we would stay in and enjoy our time together.  T decided to invite some of the guys from work and their families over to watch the game.  I am always up for company at the house so I was up for some fun!  Since the three of us are big bengals fans we werent necessarily rooting for a certain team--we wouldnt be disappointed either way!!  We had several families over and even some of the single guys--Im sure the yummy food was enough to get them from the barracks!  Thanks to some great friends we had a great spread of food and enjoyed watch the commercials!

During half time and after the game I made everyone play my new game for the Wii...its called just dance and I absolutely love it!  Its a great game for people of all ages as long as you dont mind making a fool of yourself!  I think I had more participants than normal--its always easier when drinks are involved!  But everyone had a blast playing it and several have already gone out and bought it since!

Thanks guys for making our low key superbowl so much fun!

Chuck E Cheese

Well with all my good intentions I have fallen behind on posting anything new in the last few weeks!  We have been truly enjoying having T back home and have been super busy!!  I continue to stay busy with school but luckily am still doing good in it!  Things have started to get easier with learning to manage my time but school continues to challenge me!  Now that I have learned time management with L, T comes home and I feel terrible to hide away for hours on end to do all of my lovely textbook reading!  But I am managing and I keep telling myself one day it will be worth it!

T was happy to get home to a comfy bed, a warm shower, and some homecooked food!  He has a new shadow--L wont let him out of his sight!  They have become best buddies and when time allows Libby sure loves to get her time in too!  The guys have been busy getting everything back from their training and getting it ready for shipping back out!  We are so proud of them and appreciate all they do!

Last weekend we went to chuck e cheese with some friends and enjoyed playing some games with L...somehow he must have luck because all of those "rigged" games he would put coins in and hit the button and most of the time get the bonus--we were amazed at how well he did!  It was nice to have the extra eyes to watch him in such a crowded place!

We then enjoyed a late dinner with everyone at cracker barrel...the kids enjoyed each others company and having free reign over the restaurant since we were there at 10 pm, but it seems the guys enjoyed each others company too!
